We Franciscans are challenged to live an integrated life through prayer, community, and our ministry to serve the poor, neglected and disadvantaged youth, the powerless, people in need, and the elderly. We live by our vows of poverty (living in simplicity), chastity (living in love with all), and obedience (living and witnessing the Gospel).

We are an International Congregation located in the USA, Brazil, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.	Franciscan Order, the Congregation of the Brothers of the Poor of St. Francis In 1868, five brothers from Aix-la-Chapelle established an orphanage in Cincinnati, Ohio. Since then our ministry has included many schools, homes and orphanages for boys who were guilty of minor offenses, as well as drug and alcohol dependency. We have provided group home care and social services to the communities in which we serve, as well as conducting an educational ministry. Our services have been as teachers, health care workers, social workers, and much more.
