| Frequently Asked Questions Do you celebrate the Liturgy of the Hours or prayers 7 times a day, as well as Mass each day? No. However we do attend Mass, Morning Prayer and Evening Prayers with our brothers each day. Our days consist of our prayers, our ministry, and after evening meals, a time for recreation and fraternity with our brothers. Do you live in a cloistered monastery? No, we live in Friaries of usually 3 - 4 Brothers. We are each responsible for helping to maintain the house and the preparation of meals, laundry, cleaning, etc. Will I be allowed to have any money for my personal use? Yes, we each have a sufficient allowance per month for our personal needs. Are you involved in parish ministries? We assist in parishes by visiting the sick, teaching, social work, health care, child care, and parish administration. We are not ordained to perform the sacraments. Ive been married and divorced. Could I still be eligible to join your congregation? Yes, if you have received a church annulment and you have no dependent children or dependent parents. If you are a single male and a practicing Catholic, you are eligible for consideration. I have just graduated from high school, am I eligible? We prefer a college degree and a few years work experience, but we will consider an application if you have had some further education and some practical, life experience. |
